Letter to a Friend May 26 Part 1 2026 GC

From Venerable Zasep Tulku Rinpoche:

“A long time ago in India, the great Buddhist philosopher Arya Nagarjuna had a friend who was a powerful king. The king ruled the country, commanded armies, and lived surrounded by luxury – but Nagarjuna could see something deeper: power does not protect the mind from fear, pride, or suffering. So instead of visiting with a gift or flattery, Nagarjuna sent a letter. Not a political letter. Not a sermon. A friend’s letter, written with care and honesty. This text became famous as “Letter to a Friend” (Suhrllekha).”

Explore clear, practical guidance for living with compassion and wisdom, rooted in the Gelug tradition of Tibetan Buddhism.

Teachings from the Heart

Gaden Lha Gyama Dec 20 21 2025 GC

Commentary of Lama Je Tsongkapa Guru Yoga by Kyabje Pabongka Dechen Nyingpo

Gaden Lha Gyama, also know as the Guru Yoga of Lama Tsongkhapa, is practiced daily in Gelug monestaries and sits at the heart of the Gelug tradition. It is the essence of the Ganden ear-whispered lineage, extracted directly from the holy Kadam Emanation Scripture.

This elegant practice is the life breath of Guru Yoga for the sincere practitioner. Pithy and poignant, Gaden Lha Gyama trains the practitioner in seeing the Guru as Buddha. By relying on this practice, we can purify negativity, accumulate merit, and receive Buddha’s blessings.
